Columbia County commissioners will take another look tonight at imposing a moratorium on rezoning properties for apartments.
Commissioners had decided against imposing such a moratorium during a May meeting until county attorney Doug Batchelor and county planning staff could revise ordinances related to multifamily housing.
At that May meeting, Mr. Batchelor said a moratorium might still be necessary should he and planning officials develop several options on ordinance revisions.
Revisions could include maximum density and parking regulations. They might also clarify the difference between owner-occupied and rental units and set standards for an apartment complexs design.
