New homeowner resource center begins seeing clients

A non-profit resource center for homeowners began seeing its first clients this week in downtown Augusta.

HomeFirst Augusta, 961 Broad St., provides counseling in all aspects of home buying and home ownership.

“Buying a home is a very special thing in a family’s life. We want to give people as many options and as much information as possible,” said Executive Director Reginald Bell. “It doesn’t matter where you are or who you are. If you’re trying to refinance a house or save it from foreclosure, our job is to help people do that.”

HomeFirst Augusta is a branch office of Macon-based HomeFirst Housing Resource Services.

The local branch was created in partnership with the Augusta Housing and Community Development Department and CSRA Economic Opportunity Authority Inc.
