More charges against NC man in Aiken child sex case

AIKEN -- More charges have been added today to a Charlotte, N.C., man who was previously arrested in an Internet predator sting by the Aiken County Sheriff's office.

Sampson Nimmo, 25, faces five more charges involving the same victim from the previous case, said sheriff's Capt. Troy Elwell. Those charges are contributing to the delinquency of a minor, two counts of lewd act upon a child under 16 and two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to arrest warrants.

In one of those cases, between April 1 and May 29 Mr. Nimmo is accused of causing a 12-year-old girl to ingest marijuana in a wooded park area near Legacy Lane in Aiken, an arrest warrant states.

During the same time frame and around the same location, Mr. Nimmo is also accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with the alleged victim.

Mr. Nimmo was initially arrested Friday after telling a person he thought was a 12-year-old girl that he wanted to meet her at an Aiken County location, police said.

The meeting was actually arranged by officers who used the chat room screen name of the girl, who they say had been a victim of Mr. Nimmo before.
