An Aiken County sheriffs deputy has been fired after being arrested in Burnettown.
Aiken County Sheriffs Deputy Mark Patterson, of Burnettown, was terminated Friday after the sheriffs office learned of his arrest for unlawful use of a telephone, said sheriffs Capt. Charles Barranco.
Mr. Patterson had worked for the sheriffs office for five years, and was most recently working in juvenile investigation, Capt. Barranco said.
Capt. Barranco said he did not want to comment on the details of Mr. Pattersons arrest.
We require our deputies conduct themselves a certain way on and off duty, Capt. Barranco said this afternoon.
