Golfer seeks wire-to-wire victory

Gallman shot 1-under-par 69 today to remain in the lead at Palmetto Golf Club. He is 5-under 205 for the tournament, on top of a pack of six players under par. The group includes Augusta’s Jeff Knox, who shot 67 to move to 1-under.

Augusta Prep graduate Lee Knox, Jeff Knox’s son, fired the low round of the day (66). The University of Alabama golfer carded six birdies, all but one coming on the front nine. He is 4-over for the tournament.

Augusta State golf coach Josh Gregory aced the par-3 seventh hole. He shot 74 and made the cut by two strokes.

The field of 90 was cut to 55 after the round, keeping everyone 11-over or better. Westside graduate and Georgia High School Association Class AAAA tournament medalist Chase Parker and USC Aiken golf coach Michael Carlisle both missed the cut by one shot.
