Police seeking ice cream thief

Local authorities are trying to identify a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of ice cream from DairyLand Inc. since early April.

Security video released today by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, shows a suspect breaking into a truck parked on the DairyLand property at 2542 Mike Padgett Highway and making off with large amounts of the frosty treat.

Richmond County Investigator Alton Creech said the suspect appears to have no preference for chocolate over vanilla and only targets the ice cream.

“It's ice cream every time,” Investigator Creech said.

Anyone with information on the suspect can call the sheriff's office at (706) 821-1080.
