Child hit by vehicle; taken to hospital

A child was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics after being struck by a vehicle this evening.

The incident happened in the 3000 block of New Karleen Road at about 9 p.m., according to a Richmond County 911 dispatcher. The boy was on a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle when he was struck. He suffered compound fractures to his right arm but other details were not available on his condition or age.
