Richmond CRCT results improve

Fewer Richmond County students must retake the state's CRCT, according to results released this evening.

Richmond County released results showing improvements on all required tests except fifth-grade reading.

Third-, fifth- and eighth-graders must pass the required portions of the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests to automatically move to the next grade.

Despite the improvements, math continued to be a problem. In eighth- grade 49.1 percent of students failed to pass, according to preliminary results.
