Harlem man, girlfriend charged in March armed robbery

A Columbia County grand jury charged a Harlem man and his Grovetown girlfriend in connection to a March armed robbery.

Christopher Grier, of the 700 block of Knox Road in Harlem, was charged with criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and by a convicted felon, according to court documents released today.

Mr. Grier’s girlfriend, Shashawna Diane Odell, 27, of the 500 block of Lou Lane in Grovetown, was charged with hindering apprehension of a criminal and tampering with evidence. She was arrested March 29 and was released from the Columbia County Detention Center the same day after posting a $15,000 bond, according to Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris.

Police say Ms. Odell admitted driving the getaway car March 27 while Mr. Grier used a gun to rob two Grovetown people in their home. She then voluntarily drove Mr. Grier to Alabama and disposed of the gun used in the crime. The gun was recovered on Kings Way in Harlem.

Mr. Grier is still on the run from police.

The Grovetown Department of Public Safety is offering a reward for information leading to Mr. Grier’s arrest. Anyone with information about Mr. Grier’s whereabouts should call the department at (706) 863-1212.
