Aiken arrests 3 on drug charges

AIKEN -- Aiken County authorities have arrested three people on drug charges following an undercover operation that occurred Thursday night.

Arrested are: Candice Tice, 29, on distribution of crack cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine within a half mile of Clearwater Elementary School; Anthony Tasawn Perry, 24, A.K.A. "Killer," on receiving stolen property, new charges of distribution of crack cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine within a half mile of Clearwater Elementary; and Donald Richard Whitaker, 46, on unlawful use of a telephone and new charges of possession of crack cocaine.

Sheriff's Capt. Troy Elwell said the arrests occurred after an undercover narcotics officer purchased crack cocaine from the subjects at Kozy Motel in Clearwater at about 9:30 p.m. He said that during a search of their motel room crack cocaine was found on a night stand.
