Sac fly in seventh beats Bulldogs

THOMSON — Andrew Roy hit a one-out sacrifice fly to left field to drive home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, as Northside-Columbus defeated Thomson 4-3 today.

The victory by the Patriots in Game 3 of the second-round Class AAA baseball playoff series pits them against Cartersville next week.

The loss ends Thomson’s season – one of the best seasons put together by the Bulldogs in four decades. They earned their first baseball region championship since 1969.
