SPARTANBURG, S.C. A South Carolina woman has been charged after police say she stormed out of a Sunday church service and returned with a shotgun she pointed at four people.
The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported today that 29-year-old Cynthia Denis Watson of Spartanburg has been charged with pointing and presenting a firearm.
According to a police report, Watson was upset at someone at the New Faith International Church in Spartanburg when she retrieved a loaded shotgun. Authorities said one of the people she pointed the gun toward was able to talk Watson into leaving. She was later arrested.
Watson's phone number is unlisted, and a worker at Spartanburg County detention center said she wasn't being held at the facility today. A message left for a Spartanburg Police Department spokesman wasn't immediately returned.
