Environmental group to test hair in Sandersville on Friday

An environmental group opposed to a planned coal-fired power plant in Washington County, Ga., will offer mercury hair testing in Sandersville, Ga., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

The group, Georgians for Clean Energy, will conduct the tests during the Washington County Relay For Life, being held at 420 Riddleville Road, Sandersville.

The organization contends the 850-megawatt, $2 billion plant in Washington County propose by Power4Georgians LLC will create further mercury pollution in air and water.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
