Board evaluates superintendent; results remain secret

The Richmond County Board of Education met in secret for a little more than an hour this evening to evaluate Superintendent Dana Bedden’s performance.

Board President Marion Barnes said afterward that school board members completed the evaluation, but would not give details. Under state law, superintendents’ annual evaluations may be withheld from the public.

Dr. Bedden presented evidence behind closed doors documenting his progress on six goals the board had previously approved.
