Allendale man struck, killed by train

ALLENDALE, S.C. — Authorities say a 74-year-old South Carolina man has been killed after he walked in front of a train.

Allendale County Chief Deputy Coroner Keith Smith says William Henry Robinson died instantly when the freight train struck him in Allendale Thursday morning.

Smith says he doesn't know why Robinson ignored the crossing arms, warning bells and train whistle.

No one on the train was injured.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
