3 arrested in North Augusta bank robbery

Police have arrested three North Augusta men in Thursday's the armed robbery of the Bank of America on Martintown Road.

Officers have charged Quinton R. Harmon, 19, of the 200 block of Bryant Avenue, Roosevelt Johnson Jr., 19, of the 600 block of Celeste Avenue, and David J. Dixon, 18, of the 500 block of Dove Street, with bank robbery.

At 12:33 p.m., one of the men wearing black pants, a black shirt and a mask with a white cloth over his face brandished a gun and demanded cash.

North Augusta lawyer Jim Huff attempted to stop the thief in the parking lot by firing two shots from his personal pistol. The suspect fled into a wooded area behind the bank. No one was injured during the incident.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity

A suspicious item was discovered Wednesday afternoon at the Savannah River National Laboratory which prompted emergency responseactivities.
