An Augusta man charged in a May murder is now in jail, Richmond County Sheriff's Investigator James Kelly said today.
Irving Anthony Folston, 19, of the 2800 block of Joy Road, was taken into custody around 2 p.m. Tuesday, Investigator Kelly said.
On May 1, police believe Mr. Folston fatally shot 23-year-old Antonio President at Sonny's Package Shop on the 2300 block of Wheeless Road, according to a sheriff's report.
Mr. President ran from the scene and later collapsed in a backyard on Wheeless Road. Doctors pronounced him dead at 7:25 p.m. at the Medical College of Georgia Hospitals and Clinics.
Another suspect, Lavaughn Sloans Jr., 21, of the 2000 block of Bassford Drive in Hephzibah, was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime last year.
Mr. Folston is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He remains in the Richmond County Jail with no bond.
