BATH - Those who spent the past week dealing with storm damage can take heart from Billy and Faye Kight.
Just over a year ago, the Aiken County couple lost most of their home to a surprise March tornado and have spent the past 13 months getting back to normal.
On March 15, 2008, an EF-2 tornado came through the Bath area, contributing to more than $700,000 in damages in Aiken County.
Storms also ravaged areas in Columbia, Jefferson, Barnwell and Allendale counties that day.
The Kights have spent the past year repairing their home, which was nearly destroyed by a tree that was uprooted from their yard and landed on the house.
We just finished rebuilding, and we moved back in our home about three months ago. Im still cleaning up the land, but were much better off than we were," Mr. Kight says.
Their story and their advice to this month's storm victims are featured in Monday's editions of The Augusta Chronicle.
