Augusta Richmond County Solid Waste wants to remind local residents of the correct way to dispose of debris and waste brought on by last weekends tornadoes and storms.
Residents who would like their yard waste picked up by the solid waster department must:
Put all pine straw, grass clippings, leaves and other loose yard waste debris bags or 32-gallon or smaller open topped containers
Be sure that each container does not exceed 50 pounds
Only use paper bags, not plastic ones
Avoid putting yard waste on a tarp
Be sure that individual tree limbs and branches do not exceed five feet in length or five inches and diameter
Remember to put yard waste out the night before pick up
