State Rep. Hardie Davis returns for today's final Capitol session

ATLANTA -- Back from being hospitalized, Rep. Hardie Davis was greeted by his colleagues with hugs and applause today.

Mr. Davis, a Democrat from Gracewood, was feeling ill Monday when he consulted the physician volunteering in the Capitol clinic. The doctor had state troopers ferry Mr. Davis to Emory Hospital where he was admitted for observation of his heart.

He wasn't hospitalized long, but opted to skip Wednesday's long day at the General Assembly. He was in his desk today a half hour before the gavel fell opening up the final day of the 2009 legislative season.

He addressed his colleagues briefly to thank them for their good wishes.

"I'm happy to be back, so don't stop praying for me, and certainly don't stop thinking about me," he said.
