Local banker meets with Obama

Dan Blanton, the president and CEO of Georgia Bank & Trust, is meeting this morning with President Barack Obama in Washington, D.C., to discuss small business lending issues.

Mr. Blanton is one of three American Bankers Association-member community bankers, along with ABA Chief Operating Officer Diane Casey-Landry, who will meet with President Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to examine how Small Business Administration rules can be streamlined to help banks lend even more to small businesses.

The meeting might be televised around 11:40 a.m., according to Georgia Bank & Trust officials.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
