Two charged in February murder

Investigators have arrested two men in the Feb. 28 death of Julius Walker, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office said in a statement today.


Cordarell Jamal Miller 22, of the 600 block of Old Edgefield Road in North Augusta, and Ian Christian Martin, of Wilson, N.C., are charged with murder, burglary and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, the statement said.

Mr. Miller was taken into custody at his home Wednesday afternoon. Aiken County investigators found Mr. Martin in Wilson, the statement said.

Mr. Miller is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center. Mr. Martin should be extradited back to Aiken County within the next couple of days, the statement said.

Mr. Walker was found dead in his home at 535 Samuels St. in North Augusta.

The sheriff’s office has dropped charges of murder, first degree burglary and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime against Joseph Kemp, 25, of the 100 block of Nappier Lane, and Anthony Perry, 24, of the 2000 block of Celeste Circle, said Capt. Troy Elwell, the sheriff's office's spokesman.

Tyrone Wade, 23, of the 100 block of Greenland Drive, remains in the the Aiken County Detention Center on all three charges. Police say they believe he shot the 23-year-old Mr. Walker.
