Augusta's Lyons named Peach Belt Freshman of the Year

Former Glenn Hills standout Ciara Lyons was named Peach Belt Freshman of the Year today in a vote of league coaches.

The Lander freshman started 21 of 27 games. She was second on the team and 10th in the league in scoring with 12.6 points per game. She upped that average to 13.9 ppg against conference opponents and was ranked ninth in the PBC in field goal percentage.

Lyonms scored 20 or more points in five games and was third on the team in rebounding.

The Augusta native is the first Bearcat to be named the PBC Freshman of the Year.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
