Late night traffic accident kills Hephzibah man, 39

A 39-year-old Hephzibah man has been identified as the victim in a fatal, late-night traffic accident.

According to a statement released by the Richmond County Coroner's Office, Kendrick Pace, of the 4200 block of Cap Chat Street, was killed shortly before midnight in an accident on Windsor Spring Road.

Mark Bowen, chief deputy coroner, said Mr. Pace was the only occupant of a 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity driving in the 4200 block of Windsor Spring, when his vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes causing a head-on collision with a Dodge Durango. The driver of the Dodge, whose name wasn’t available, was taken to a hospital for non life-threatening injuries, Mr. Bowen said.

Mr. Pace was taken to Medical College of Georgia Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead about 11:30 p.m.
