Blown transformer sends Josey High students home for the day

A blown transformer cut off electrical power to Josey High School this morning, closing classes and sending its students home for the day.

Most students had been released by 10 a.m., school officials said. Teachers will remain as part of a staff development day, they said.

Georgia Power officials were on the scene correcting the electrical problem.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity

A suspicious item was discovered Wednesday afternoon at the Savannah River National Laboratory which prompted emergency responseactivities.
