Man sought in New Year's Eve shooting is arrested in Aiken

An Aiken man was arrested late Wednesday in connection with a shooting on New Year's Eve, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

Christopher Tobias Croft, 29, was wanted on charges of pointing and presenting a firearm, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and assault and battery with intent to kill, a statement from the department said. The charges involve the shooting of a 19-year-old man on Bradby Lane.

Mr. Croft was arrested at a residence on the 300 block of York Street Northeast in Aiken by officers from the Aiken Department of Public Safety Special Response Team. Charles Michael Mosley, 21, of Aiken, was also in the residence and was arrested on a charge of failure to comply with a lawful order.
