Structure fire in Hephzibah and Augusta

A Hephzibah home was badly damaged by fire Thursday night, but no injuries were reported.

The blaze at 64 Forest Road was reported at 7:32 p.m., according to a Richmond County dispatcher. Firefighters were continuing to put out hot spots late Thursday. The cause isn't immediately known.

About 11:30 p.m. Thursday, firefighters also responded to a structure fire at 1410 12th Street in downtown Augusta. The structure, located next to The Holy House of Prayer of Jesus Christ, was smoldering as of midnight, but emergency workers at the scene said there didn't appear to be any injuries.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
