A report out of Charlotte that the Augusta Lynx are expected to disband today has not been confirmed or denied by Lynx ownership, but head coach John Marks said Wednesday afternoon he knew of no such plans.
"That's news to me right now. I talked to (Lynx co-owner and general manager) Dan Troutman this morning and as of 9 a.m. there's nothing like that," Marks said. "I've been hearing rumors, but as far as I know we're still scheduled to play in Gwinnett tomorrow."
Troutman did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
The Charlotte Observer reported on its Web site today that the Lynx were disbanding. Augusta is scheduled to play a pair of games with the Charlotte Checkers this weekend.
