North Augusta Country Club listed by auction company

NORTH AUGUSTA -- The future of the North Augusta Golf and Country Club is still up in the air more than a year since its clubhouse burned down.

According to JP.King, a Myrtle Beach auction company, the property was listed on its Web site on Friday.

Members of the firm, which mostly deals with properties over $1 million, are to meet this week to discuss the possible auction in detail, according to administrative personnel.

Despite the company's confirmation, however, Ron Perry, country club vice president, said today the auction company mistakenly listed the North Augusta property.

He would not confirm any future plans for the club, but said members would be notified once decisions were made.

Calls to club CEO Fred Layman have not been returned.
