Travis Lee Brown

Richmond County investigators are searching for a man they say attempted to kidnap his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint this morning.

Travis Lee "Trapp" Brown, 21, of Cook Road, is wanted on kidnapping and carjacking charges after he allegedly confronted the woman at her work on Professional Parkway.

Mr. Brown forced his way into her car and made the victim drive away, according to sheriff's Lt. Scott Peebles. The victim attempted to jump from the moving vehicle but she was grabbed by the suspect and dragged a short distance.

Eventually, she was able to convince him to let go and she abandoned the vehicle.

Mr. Brown is believed to be driving a 2009 Silver Toyota Corolla with the South Carolina license plate number AFJ 456, a sheriff's report said. He is also wanted on armed robbery charges in connection with the July robbery of Wang's Wangs restaurant on Milledgeville Road.

He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information can call the sheriff's office at (706) 821-1080.
