Phillies top Rays for World Series title

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 in Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday, claiming the city's first championship in pro sports since the baseball team won it all in 1980.

Phillies third baseman Pedro Feliz's single in the bottom of the seventh inning drove in the winning run after Rocco Baldelli's solo homer tied in the top half of the inning.

The game began Monday but was suspended in the middle of the sixth inning at 2-all because of heavy rain. Baseball did not try to resume play Tuesday, again citing inclement weather.
