Thomson game rescheduled, others still on

The football game between the Thomson High School Bulldogs and West Laurens, originally scheduled for Friday night, has been postponed due to inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday night in Dublin.

The game between the Bulldogs and West Laurens is a key one for Thomson, if they are to get into the playoffs this season.

Meanwhile, other games of interest to McDuffie County fans remain on tap for Friday night. One of the games is the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers playing host to the David Emanuel Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m.

At Briarwood, homecoming activities get underway on the field at 7 p.m. with a new homecoming queen being named during halftime ceremonies.

Another game still on tap for tonight is Warren County journeying to Augusta in a crucial Region 7-A battle against the Aquinas Irish. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.

If the Screaming Devils win the game, they automatically clinch a playoff spot – marking the fourth straight year of the school getting into the playoffs.
