Police think same man connected to 4 area holdups

Investigators are searching for a man linked to four armed robberies in the Augusta area.

The suspect is believed to have robbed the Holiday Market and the BP Gas Station both located on the 3000 block of Wheeler Road on Oct. 11, said Richmond County Sheriff’s Investigator Tim Rzasa. He also robbed the Circle K on the 200 block of Georgia Avenue Oct. 13, Investigator Rzasa said.

The most recent robbery was reported Saturday at the China Garden on the 2700 block of Tobacco Road in Hephzibah, where a bandit got away with $200 in cash, according to a sheriff’s office report.

The man used a silver-colored handgun in all four robberies, Investigator Rzasa said. He is described as a black man in his early 20s, between 5 foot 6 inches and 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds.
