Flu clinic turnout light

Few people are showing up for a flu clinic today in Evans.

Typically, a number of people show up for the $25 vaccinations, Columbia County Emergency Services Director Pam Tucker said.

Mrs. Tucker said some people might mistakenly believe that appointments are necessary to get the vaccine. While an appointment is required to receive vaccines from county health departments, no appointments are needed for the flu clinics.

Today’s clinic will be held until 3 p.m. in the auditorium of the Evans Government Complex, 630 Ronald Reagan Drive, Evans. Another clinic will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday at the same location. Future clinics will be held this month at health department offices in Appling and Grovetown, schools and the government complex.

For more information, call the Evans health clinic at (706) 868-3330, the Appling health clinic at (706) 541-1318 or the Grovetown clinic at (706) 556-3727.
