Clearwater bank robbed

AIKEN - The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a bank robbery at Regions Bank in Clearwater this afternoon.

According to a news release, about 12.33 p.m. a man walked into the bank on Jefferson Davis Highway and asked a teller for a deposit slip, on which he wrote a note demanding money. The man, who never displayed a gun, walked out of the bank with an unknown amount of money.

The robber, who was wearing a Boston Red Sox baseball cap, was seen walking to a white Toyota van driven by a woman, the release said. The vehicle had a Georgia license plate.
