Hawaii to face Mexico in Little League championship

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -– The team from Waipahu, Hawaii, rallied for six runs in the top of the sixth inning to defeat Lake Charles, La., 7-5 and win the Little League World Series U.S. final on Saturday.

In Sunday's title game, Hawaii will face the squad from Matamoros, Mexico, which prevailed 5-4 over Tokyo.

In the international final, the diminutive sluggers on the Mexican team produced a five-run third inning en route to the win. That inning was capped by a home run to dead center field by Sergio Rodriguez.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity

A suspicious item was discovered Wednesday afternoon at the Savannah River National Laboratory which prompted emergency responseactivities.
