Woman struck by vehicle

A woman was transported to the hospital this morning after she jumped out of her vehicle on a Martinez road and into the path of another car.

Cheryl Wunsch, 51, of Martinez, was driving north on Wheeler Road behind a Pontiac Grand Prix at 10:35 a.m. when she apparently became irritated, pulled her BMW 325i in front of the Grand Prix and stepped out of her vehicle, said Columbia County sheriff’s Deputy Greg Kernaghan.

The driver of the Grand Prix, David Hunt Sr., 63, from Waynesboro, then tried to reverse and drive around Ms. Wunsch, but she ran in front of Mr. Hunt’s vehicle and was struck, Deputy Kernaghan said. Ms. Wunsch was charged with aggressive driving, Deputy Kernaghan said.

Her condition is not yet known.
