Augusta’s newest call center is operational.
Teleperformance on Wylds Road behind the Augusta Mall threw open its doors this morning. About 150 people are working or in training at the site.
The call center will employ 250 people before the end of the year.
Augusta site workers are fielding calls from Medicare and Medicaid clients of WellCare Health Plans Inc., a Teleperformance client.
On site training began in June. The first calls came into the Augusta center at the beginning of July.
Teleperformance, which is headquartered in France, has a worldwide staff of 83,000 people. It has 281 centers in 45 countries.
