Augusta attorney arrested on drug charge

Augusta defense attorney George D. Bush was arrested this afternoon on a charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, Richmond County Sheriff Ronnie Strength confirmed tonight.

Mr. Bush, 41, of the 2400 block of Walton Way, was arrested about 5 p.m. at Ballroom Billiards, 978 Broad Street, the sheriff said. Mr. Bush is accused of having a half-ounce of cocaine in his pocket. The sheriff said the arrest followed a two-week investigation by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.

His bond was set at $10,000. Someone has posted bond and Mr. Bush has been released from the Richmond County jail.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
