Three Columbia area men have been arrested in Thursday’s holdup of the Enterprise Bank in Denmark.
According to news release from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Leon Amos Jason James, 28, of Irmo; Lewis Garvin, 44, of Columbia; and Homer Arthur James, 54, of Columbia were all charged with one count each of:
• Armed robbery while armed or allegedly armed with a deadly weapon, a felony with a penalty upon conviction of a mandatory 10 to 30 years in prison.
• Criminal conspiracy, a felony with a penalty upon conviction of 5 years in prison or a $5,000 fine.
• Possession of a weapon during a violent crime, a felony with a penalty upon conviction of 5 years in prison.
• Entering a bank with intent to steal, a felony with a penalty upon conviction of up to 30 years in prison.
SLED investigated the case at the request of the Denmark Police Department, the news release stated and the three were booked at the Bamberg County Detention Center. A bond hearing will be held Monday and the case will be prosecuted by the 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office, the news release stated.
