Murder trial resumes in the 2010 slaying in downtown Augusta

The murder trial resumed this morning for the first of three men accused numerous crimes connected with a September 2010 crime spree.

Hector Torres, 19, has pleaded not guilty to all charges in Richmond County Superior Court. His trial began last week but it was continued until today because a prosecution witness was out of the country.

Torres, Hamlet Perdomo, 25, and Michael Rewis, 21, were arrested in September 2010 on charges including murder, rape, armed robbery and aggravated assault. The homicide charge is for the Sept. 11, 2010, shooting death of 56-year-old Carl Bush Sr. on Reynolds Street.
