2 drivers cited in road rage incident

Police were called after a man threatened another driver with a BB gun during a road rage incident Saturday.

According to a police report, the Lumpkin Road altercation began when Curtis Leonard, 43, entered Lumpkin Road from a parking lot and tried to cross several lanes, blocking another driver, 65-year-old Evans Miller.

Leonard told deputies that Miller made an obscene gesture and cursed at him. Miller denied it.

Police said both drivers got out of their vehicles in the middle of the road and threatened to beat each other up.

Leonard told deputies he felt threatened and got his BB gun. The drivers differ on what happened next. Leonard said he placed the gun on the seat where the other driver could see it, and Miller says Leonard pointed the gun and threatened to kill him.

Both drivers were issued citations for aggressive driving.

The gun was confiscated.
