Waynesboro police seek man who robbed Huddle House

The Waynesboro Police Department is searching for an armed robber after a holdup at Huddle House late Sunday.


According to a news release, a man entered the restaurant at 323 S. Liberty Street around 11:50 p.m. with a pistol and demanded cash from the register. Police said the man demanded more money from an employee but fled with only the money from the register. He was last seen running behind the store toward the nursing home.

A nursing home employee told police he saw a black 1990s model Chevrolet pickup leaving the area at a high rate of speed around the time of the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, around 6 feet tall and about 200-250 pounds with a muscular build. He was wearing a white T-shirt, light-colored bandana over his mouth, dark cap and yellow rubber kitchen gloves.
