Teen jailed for threatening to shoot mom

A 17-year-old is in jail after threatening to shoot his mother in the face Monday morning.

According to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report, deputies were called to the 1800 block of North Barton Drive about 10 a.m. after Thomas Dyson threatened to shoot his mother, Jacqueline Jones.

The mother told deputies she and her son had argued because she spent her son’s paycheck to pay household bills.

Police said the boy told his mother he would be waiting in “the cut” to shoot her in the face.

Deputies found Dyson in a wooded area known as “the cut.” The report did not indicate if Dyson was armed at the time of his arrest.

Dyson was booked into the Richmond County Jail on charges of terroristic acts and threats.
