Man charged with shooting ex-girlfriend with pellet gun

A 21-year-old is in the Richmond County Jail after deputies said he shot his girlfriend several times with a pellet gun.

His ex-girlfriend, 25, called deputies to her home on the 3100 block of Wrightsboro Road around 11 p.m. Friday after Tobias Weaver entered the home they shared, choked her and then shot her three times with the pellet gun, according to an incident report.

The victim told deputies she had broken up with Weaver earlier that day.

Weaver was charged with simple battery.

The victim suffered superficial injuries from the incident.
