Aiken man gets 40 years in Pickens slaying

PICKENS, S.C.  - An Aiken County man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for killing a man in his mobile home in Pickens.

The Greenville News reports that it took a jury less than an hour Wednesday to find 21-year-old Christopher Murray guilty of murder in the death of 21-year-old James Gibson

Murray was arrested in January 2010 after Gibson was found dead in his home with a gunshot to the chest.

Investigators say Murray told someone he was going to get Gibson and then admitted that he shot him.

Murray did not testify in his own defense. Prosecutors showed dashcam video where Murray told police he buried the gun used to kill Gibson near his sister's home in Aiken.
