JONESBORO, Ga. — The head of security for Clayton County Schools, John Taylor Walker Jr., has pleaded not guilty to a charge he tried to bribe a judge to get a government contract for an outside employer.
Walker appeared in Clayton County Superior Court on Monday.
He faces one count of bribery. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
Walker has been with the school system since 2006.
Prosecutors allege that he offered a campaign contribution to a local magistrate judge in hopes that a probation services company he had worked for would receive a contract with local courts.
A trial date has not yet been set.
