GBI releases letter in missing Ga. woman case

BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. -- State investigators have released the text of an anonymous letter from a "concerned grandmother" who believes her grandson was involved in the disappearance of 38-year-old woman one year ago.

The woman says in the letter to investigators she suspects her unnamed grandson was linked to Kristi Cornwell, who police say was abducted while talking to her boyfriend on her cell phone while on a walk in north Georgia.

She writes: "I want to give my grandson the benefit of doubt until proven otherwise. However, I will not turn a blind eye to my suspicions."

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is urging the letter-writer or someone who recognizes the letter to come forward.
