Collision snarls Aiken County traffic

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Rainy weather caused a North Augusta woman to lose control and flip her vehicle today, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Glenda Douse, 34, was southbound on U.S. Highway 1 about 12:20 p.m. when she lost control of her Ford Explorer and slid down an embankment blocking traffic near the Atomic Road on ramp, said Lance Cpl. Judd Jones.

Jones said traffic was delayed about 30 minutes as the SUV was pulled from the embankment.

Douse was taken to the Medical College of Georgia with minor injuries. She was charged with driving too fast for conditions, Jones said.
