Researchers in the lab of Dr. Gurkirpal Sohal at the Medical College of Georgia examine a chicken embryo for evidence of VENT cells, which Dr. Sohal says play a previously unknown role in development. Figuring out the role of the cells might give clues into birth defects, he says.
